Process Work

This task was combined with Digital Photography Image (DPI) class the photo was for DPI class and the typography we created in adobe illustrator was for IVN class.

-design ideas-

design 1

This was the chosen picture and i did not want the typography to stand out so decided to choose the font for minimal or simple.
The quote i chose was 'YOUR COMFORT ZONE WILL KILL YOU' i thought that it matches the photo i took and decided to look for minimal and simple designs in google font.

the font i chose was LATO from google font.

design 2

design 3

i wanted to go simple as possible so decided to go with this simple style

final poster design

i added the some effects with photoshop so that the image will not look boring.

Rational

The poster design combines a meaningful quote with a simple and clean typography style to effectively deliver its message, "Your comfort zone will kill you." I chose a minimal font from Google Fonts to keep the design clean and professional while ensuring it didn’t overpower the overall visual. The text placement was carefully adjusted to complement the layout and guide the viewer’s attention without distracting from the main image. For the background, I used a darkened photo of the Hangang River at night, featuring city lights, a bridge, and reflections on the water. This creates a moody and reflective atmosphere that fits the theme of stepping out of your comfort zone. The combination of subtle visuals and thoughtful typography creates a balanced design that is simple.

Reflection

When I was working on this poster, I really wanted to experiment more with typography in Adobe Illustrator. I thought about trying different effects and designs to make the text more creative and stand out. But as I kept designing, I realized that if the typography stood out too much, it would throw off the balance of the poster. Since I wanted the poster to feel more unified and harmonious, I decided to keep the text simple and minimal. This way, it blends well with the dark night scenery of the Hangang River without taking too much attention away from the overall design. Through this process, I learned how important it is to keep a design balanced and not overdo any one element.
